We’ve been working closely with Joel’s Garage Gear since 2016. Creating their brand from scratch and helping to develop it into the success that it is today.
It takes work to stand out from the pack — work that Albury Wodonga Digital is proud to make much easier for our clients. Joel Smith came to us in 2016 looking to move away from selling his products on eBay as the fees on high value items were stifling his profit margins. He knew there had to be a better way to do business online.
At the time, like most budding entrepreneurs he was employed full time whilst slowly building his business on the side. He had been doing this for several years — selling a handful of products through eBay each month.
Once we created a recognizable brand and an online store that he could sell products through directly, sales began rapidly increasing in a short period of time. So much so that Joel decided to make his business his full-time focus.
Twelve months later in mid 2017 he built a 660sq/m warehouse on his property to house the large amount of stock he now needed to keep on hand due to the high demand for his products online. At this time the majority of his advertising was focused on social media to help build a strong reputation as a company that sells quality equipment.
A year after that the focus switched from social media marketing to paid google advertising as he now had a strong brand following which was generating sales naturally. This advertising strategy coupled with a user friendly online store has seen Joel’s Garage Gear grow rapidly within just four years.
He now employs staff members and runs the business from an even larger warehouse based in Derrimut. The majority of the day-to-day warehouse order processing is also automated thanks to close integration with the website.
This was a very saturated market to gain natural search results for on Google. However with time Joel’s Garage Gear is now ranking well for the majority of its relevant key words, which in turn is also providing an increase in sales. This is something we are constantly improving upon.
We have also implemented a number of buy now, pay later services as payment options over the years, which have noticeably boosted conversions. The core of this website is still the same as it was back when it was built in 2016, we have simply constantly tweaked it to produce the best results.
